Toronto Crime Stoppers is looking for a few more good Men & Women

We are looking for new Board Members!

In order to determine the eligibility of any individual as a potential new Board member, the candidate must first show proof of the following:
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Be a resident or work with in the City of Toronto
• Be proven to be free of any criminal record or pending charges
• Not be in bankruptcy
• Not employed directly or indirectly by any Police Services Board, Municipally, Provincially or Federally
The applicant must also provide:
• A current résumé
• A completed Board member application form
• A completed reference sheet
• A recent criminal reference check
When the completed application information has been received, a candidate’s submission will be reviewed by the board and the following criteria will be considered:
• The suitability of applicant as a Board Member
• Does the applicant possess any skills or knowledge that will enhance or assist the goals and objectives of the Crime Stoppers Program?
• Does the applicant possess any skills or knowledge that will fill a deficit left by an outgoing board member?
• Does the applicant live or work in one of the regional municipalities not presently represented on the Board?
• Does the applicant, for any reason have any conflicts of interest, as deemed by the Board?
In the event that a vacancy occurs on the Board, a candidate who has successfully completed the formal candidate application process and has been voted in by the Board can fill this position.
In the event that no applicants are deemed to be suitable candidates, the Board member position(s) will remain vacant, pursuant to the By Laws, until a suitable candidate is found.
Upon the selection of the new Board member(s), the Vice Chair will contact the new Board member by telephone to inform the new member of the results. The new member will be provided a Board member orientation package and an official letter of acceptance that contains a Toronto Crime Stoppers Board Member Roles and Responsibility Description. There will be a motion to accept the applicant as a member of the Toronto Crime Stoppers Board of Directors
